In 1968, the first "English Fish-n-Chips" franchise came to the USA, and by coincidence,
opened their first pilot store three blocks from my North Columbus
home. While the seafood franchises were acceptable,
their products had a high retention
of "frying fat".
There seemed to be lots of room for improvement
in quality, and the "cookie cutter" look of the fish.
In 1967, I opened a roast beef sandwich operation in Zanesville, Ohio in a former
restaurant building, later developing a terrific homemade battered fish-n-chips
application to the menu. Success came quickly with the unique batter, applied to the hand cut fish fillets
that removed the fat content by 50%, while increasing the flavor and texture.
Roast beef soon took a back seat to the extremely popular random cut of
fish.
Low fat fillets could be served within one minute of
the customer's order, therefore, speed and quality came to be expected. People
who rarely ate fish were showing up three and four times each week!
Two more units were opened in 1968 and 1970. As customers lined
up outside the Main Street location, I decided to purchase an 8000
sq. ft. building in 1978. I kept
the operation "close to the vest", 100% family owned, and continued the
operation until 1992. However, the phone has never stopped ringing
and contacts from restaurants have persisted for the past ten years requesting
to purchase the preparation and process.
I am in semi-retirement
now, and have decided to share this incomparable and simple method of preparing
the best fish fillets anyone has tasted, for a fee that anyone can afford.
I know this easy process is the perfect fit for any restaurant. There is
no known higher return on such a small investment that should be recouped
in just a few months. There are few limits to your income growth.

and my recipe for success is now available for everyone to benefit from. It is a wonderful opportunity
